Finally i can hold my baby boy..

Yesterday was a special and exhausting day to me. But it was one of the happiest days of my life. My baby boy was born yesterday at Damansara Specialist Hospital, PJ.

Early in the morning, at about 7.00 am, my wife had constant contractions and had had a throbbing pain. So we decided to go and see our gynae for advice. Actually the due date was expected on 28th August 2006.

Here, I will briefly chronicle what had happened yesterday:-

At 8.30 am, we had breakfast at our favorite roti canai stall in Sri Hartamas.
At 9.00 am, we registered ourselves at our gynae clinic and waited.
At 9.40 am, we met our gynae and she checked my wife’s canal, it was opened for 2 cm, so she advised us to be admitted immediately for further supervision.
At 10.00 am, I registered my wife officially and at 10.30 am, she lied down nervously on a small bed in the delivery room. She was the only would-be-mother there yesterday.
At 10.45 am, two midwives attended to my wife and prepared her for the delivery.
From 11 am to 3.00 pm, my wife was in severe pain or labour pain, the contractions were getting worst. So after listening to our gynae's advice and persuasion, my wife decided to take the epidural and it reduced the pain tremendously.
At 4.00 pm, the canal opened to 7 cm and then at 6.00 pm, it was already 9 cm.
At 6.30 pm, my wife was ready to deliver. So our gynae and the two midwives came in and set up everything. So push baby push…push baby push..
The pushing process took about half hour and at about 7.28 pm, my baby boy was born safely. i was given the honour to cut the chord and i did it proudly.

i'm glad to inform you that the mother and the baby are doing well right now.

i would like to thank some of you who always pray for and motivate me during my wife's difficult journey of pregnancy. It was hard for me and a challenging experience as it is my first baby.

i hope all of you would continue to advise me on my next journey of fatherhood. May God bless you all.

Thank you and wassalam.
