petrol price hike in February 2006

i was surprised to learn that the petrol price had been increased again. i was not prepared for that and i did not rush to the petrol station to fill up my petrol on the nite they announced it. everybody is complaining. they say everything will be more expensive now as the cost of doing business is higher. not just that, the cost of living is also higher.

i expressed my displeasure about the new petrol price hike to my young politician friend. he told me to trust the wisdom of our government and he advised me that the petrol price in our country is relatively low in this region. he asked me to take a good look at singapore, thailand and indonesia, he said we are much better than them. he also said our government needs the money for development and our government cannot subsidise us forever. good show bro!!

but i was dissappointed with his advice, i thought he can do better than that. i told him, "u know what, that's why i live here, in Malaysia, coz the price of our petrol is lower and the cost of living is lower, everything is lower and cheaper than singapore, cheaper than thailand and cheaper than indonesia", "i wont be living here if we are no better than thailand or indonesia".

i think if our elected government cannot improvise and cannot find new sources of money for development, then they should resign because they are not doing their job. we voted them to find extra money for the country and to make our life easier and better than indonesian and thais. the government cannot simply say that, "we dont have money anymore, therefore we have to make your life harder". Ouuch!!!

p/s im selling my car and buying a bicycle to show moral support to pak lah :-)

I'm seriously thinking to:
1. ride bicycle to come to work
2. cook with dapur arang
3. before i get myself a new bike, i'll drive my car with the aircond off, enjoy the fresh sweet (YEAH RIGHT, I THINK NOT!)smell of fresh Malaysian air.
4. use the public transport, enjoy inhalling some stranger's B.O, M.O, A.P.O
5. car pool with some lori tangki minyak to work. Heck, who knows, i may get to pau some petrol before i get off..
6. start my own business in the comfort of my own home, need not use transport.
7. invent a device where I can convert H2O into petrol - i'll trademark the device and i'll be rich! ha..ha..ha... (evil laugh that is!)
